Blue Eyes and Golden Shoes
The House of Blue Eyes Spring 2010 Fashion Show took place at Jalouse nightclub (Mayfair, London) on the Friday evening of September 18th, 2009. In concert with London Fashion Week, designer Johnny Blue Eyes put on an extravagant display to showcase his new ‘Gold’ collection.
As an important component of the visual picture, SOS Mark designed the shoes for the show, two styles labelled ‘The Iconic Golden Shoe’ one with Swarovski crystals and one without. In the aftermath of the indulgent evening, the SOS Mark ‘Golden Shoe’ was snapped up by Beth Ditto of “The Gossip” and Lady Gaga, who, understandably, frequently wears the rest of the House of Blue collection as well. In a rock star setting, with colors blazing, the fashion show had a kind of 80’s, burnished gold, androgynous edge to it, and the makeup, created by Illamasqua Artistic Director Alex Box, reflected the same kind of look. With Johnny Blue Eyes calling the shots, the whole theme took on a futuristic, Egyptian-theme with a twist of Sci-Fi style thrown into the mix. Walking in the show was ‘Britain’s Next Top Model Winner’ Mecia Simone Simson who looked gorgeous and showed that she can really strut her stuff and belong in the moment.
Samantha Swaby, creator of SOS Mark and a personal friend of the wonderfully charming Johnny Blue Eyes, remarked, “I expected a whirlwind of an evening, a juxtaposition of color and sound and we got just that, if not more. I love working with Johnny, his passion and energy lift my creative levels as well and the spirit of my designs complements his creations perfectly. We have a deep mutual admiration for each other and I hope to continue working with him for a long, long time…”
SOS Mark shoes are hand crafted in Italy and made bespoke in the same manufacturing facilities that also produce Manolo Blahniks and Louboutians. They are available in Dubai at the Samsaara boutique at Souk Al Bahar.
